Biography

LIM Subeom's (b. 1997) paintings depict the ecosystem of mythological nature. The Golem Lives Everywhere (2023) shows the face of a giant being blended with the silver-green mountainside, holding a mysterious world where unknown civilizations and nature intertwine on its body. It is the result of unraveling the imagination of a natural ecosystem with life and consciousness, borrowing the tale of the Golem through diverse symbols. He imagines the consciousness of all elements of the world that existed before humanity, based on curiosity about the origin of nature and matter. It reveals his attitude of perceiving the world as an organic network and and recognizing oneself as part of such a whole.
