"Since I was an undergraduate student, I've been thinking about what 'scenery of this era' is. Then one day, I saw the mountain through the buildings and thought, 'This is it.' I thought that the 'small carved mountain' was the landscape of our time. When it comes to landscape painting, it's easy to think of it as a painting that only paints mountains and water, but it's actually a painting of humans in harmony with nature. People and houses were not always left out even in the landscape paintings of the Joseon Dynasty. Then, I thought that the landscape paintings of our time would be the appearance of mountains seen through the forest of buildings."
