Arario Gallery presents Geraldine Javier (born in 1970, in the Philippines)’s solo exhibition from June 7th to July 7th.
Geraldine Javier, who was born in Manila (the Philippines) in 1970, is a leading artist in the Southeast Asian contemporary art scene. Since her debut in 1995, she has been attracting attention with paintings and sculptures that exquisitely combine craft elements such as embroidery and tatting laces. This exhibition is the second solo exhibition held in Korea, since her successful first solo exhibit at Arario Gallery in 2011. Under the theme of “Representations of Death and Various Reponses,” the exhibition will introduce five paintings, sculptures, two large scale sculpture installations and eight photographs, positioning Geraldine Javier as a representative artist in Southeast Asia.
