'The New Exhibition Coterie' and 'The Fourth Group', two art groups JUNG belonged in the 1960s, were the first collective initiatives to resist against the conservative older generation. This self-portrait expresses the artist’s deepest inner emotions on conflicts between the established system and artistic freedom, and limitations of such individual subjectivity and social walls.
