[News] "Masterpieces of First-Class Ink Wash Paintings That 'Can't Even Be Seen in China' Arrive in Korea"

Cultural artifacts from China, whose overseas export is strictly restricted, have made their debut on Korean soil. A total of 32 pieces, including first-class, second-class, and third-class relics, are part of the exhibition.

The exhibition, titled "The Modern and Contemporary Ink Art  of the Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China," opened on the 28th. It is the first joint exhibition between Korea and China, featuring representative modern and contemporary ink wash and color paintings from the collections of Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and China’s National Art Museum, the only national art museum in China.

Originally planned for 2022 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and China, the exhibition was postponed due to COVID-19. It is being held in Korea this year and will travel to Beijing, China, next year.
