The desire to honor what inevitably fades from view, to commemorate all that vanishes so fleetingly—could this be the very foundation of art, whether expressed through figurative forms or abstract concepts? Mourning the departed is, at its core, an act of preserving the life that remains.
The duo exhibition Pluto (curated by Kwon Hyuk-kyu), has been on view at Museumhead in Gye-dong, Seoul, since November 21. Featuring works by KIM Juree (44) and AN Gyungsu (49), the exhibition delves into the artistic realms of the two creators, exploring themes of "death" and "disappearance." Reflecting on those erased from today’s urban landscapes and forgotten or exiled beings, the exhibition constructs a metaphorical “grave” within the museum space, employing the language of art to evoke memory and loss.
