(...) Additionally, the second part of the Korean painting exhibition concludes with LEE Jinju's "Visible 21," proposing an expanded definition of traditional ink. Through the use of "Lee Jeongbae Black" in this work, the piece challenges the conventional perception of ink as merely "sumuk" (traditional ink wash), instead redefining it as a form of "black" within the spectrum of colors. The work prompts reflection on how far modern Korean painting can evolve and what direction it should pursue in the future.
