Kookmin Ilbo: Lost in Garden

Artist KIM Byoungho (51) is highly sought after in the public art market. His works can be found across Korea, including the yellow sculpture in front of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, the colorful façade of Hyundai Motor’s Noryangjin Southern Service Center, and installations at Shinsegae Department Store’s Cheonan-Asan and Busan Centum City branches, as well as the Sejong Government Complex. His works also adorn streets in Hong Kong, China, France, and the Czech Republic.

Dubbed the "Prince of Public Art," KIM Byoungho is presenting his solo exhibition, Lost in Garden, at ARARIO GALLERY in Jongno, Seoul. While public art is often criticized for excessive popular appeal, KIM challenges this notion by exhibiting at a major gallery, proving his artistic value. Through this, he asserts that his public art is not merely institutionalized but rather an extension of street art beyond the confines of museums.
