ARARIO GALLERY CHEONAN will host the Unbo Kim Ki Chang exhibition from February 18, 2024, to March 22, 2026.
Unbo (雲甫) Kim Ki Chang (1914–2001) was a pioneering artist in modern and contemporary Korean art, playing a crucial role in the reinterpretation of traditional Korean painting in a modern context.
Despite acquiring a hearing impairment later in life and living in silence, his canvases are filled with extraordinary dynamism, characterized by bold brushstrokes and vibrant energy.
This exhibition aims to highlight the aesthetic value and art historical significance of Unbo’s seven-decade-long artistic journey, spanning from the 1930s to the 1990s.
