This publication is the exhibition catalog for 《Don Sunpil: Industrial Bishōjo》 which will be displayed on the 4th floor of ArarioGallery Seoul from July 12th to August 19th.
DON Sunpil (b.1984) has expressed the socio-cultural phenomena surrounding figures through his work. With his unique meticulous and persistent spirit of inquiry and affection, figures are not only objects of personal affection, but figures as works are a means of analyzing socially agreed semiotic phenomena.
This exhibition 《Don Sun-pil: Industrial Bishōjo》 mainly deals with the narrative from the producers' perspective, which allows us to imagine the uniqueness and power of an industrial structure in which the Bishōjo figure.
